The Nerazzurri manager has revealed that he was distressed after the defeat against Parma that put them out of the Champions League race, and mentioned that it was the President that calmed him.
Andrea Stramaccioni has revealed that it was difficult journey for him from his time as a Primavera coach to be confirmed as the manger of Inter Milan’s senior side, and has stated that one of the most difficult moments for him was the defeat against Parma.
The former Nerazzurri Primavera coach was promoted to manage the senior side in the previous season to replace Claudio Ranieri at the Milan outfit, and his impressive performance with the team has seen him get a permanent place on the bench.
Stramaccioni was talking to an interview with Il Giornale newspaper, and was asked about the time when he thought that he has earned a permanent coaching position at the Italian giants.
The Nerazzurri manager revealed that one of the lowest points of his tenure at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan was the defeat against Parma, which put his team out of the contention of a UEFA Champions League spot.
The Beneamata boss stated that he was so down after the defeat that he could not think of anything to say in the press conference, and revealed that it was President Massimo Moratti that relaxed him and told him that he had done well despite the defeat.
While talking to Il Giornale, the 36-year-old said:
“I asked myself the question for the first time after Parma-Inter in Week 36, a defeat that practically put us out of the Champions League race. It was going badly and there were no more untouchables, so I could see everything being turned upside down and
wasn’t sure what to say in my Press conference. It was the President who calmed me down and called to say we didn’t deserve to lose and did well anyway. We were out of the Champions League places. I don’t know how many Presidents would’ve reacted that way.”
Stramaccioni went on to state that being a coach in Serie A comes with its own dangers, and insisted that he is training himself to cope up with the new challenges.
The Nerazzurri manager also stated that while he loves it when he is on the field, he is surprised by how quickly people judge other people and teams off it.
