Andreas Hartø aims a victory as Challenge Tour sets to stop at the Nordic swing
Andreas Hartø is set to record his maiden win of the 2012 Challenge Tour season, as he heads for the Nordic swing’s opener at the Finnish Challenge, slated to start from Thursday, August 2, 2012.
Right from the start of the season, Hartø has been sensational whenever he enters the course. However, he has remained unlucky when it comes to recording a victory.
So far, he recorded five top-10 finishes, including two third-place positions in 11 events that he has played so far. Also, he is listed 10th on the Challenge Tour’s money list with €68,305 prize money.
“I've had five top ten finishes and a couple of big ones - Madeira obviously being the biggest,” he said. “I'm going to try to get a win too. Obviously that’s always the goal, to win tournaments”.
He now plans to regain his form that he had during his debut year. He managed to record wins in two of the four Challenge Tour events that he played in 2010.
According to him, he made a great start to his 2012 campaign too. However, he failed to bring his consistency in the recent few weeks and did not play good golf.
Right after finishing fourth in the Credit Suisse Challenge, he appeared at the Double Tree by Hilton Acaya Open and missed the cut. Thereafter, he showed up at the English Challenge and ended his final round with a 29th spot on the leaderboard.
“It has been a great year so far,” said Hartø. “I've played really steadily. The last few weeks haven’t been so great and I wasn’t really at my best last week in England (at the English Challenge). I'm getting the ball in the hole though, and making the
cut helps so that’s a good sign that I can make cuts even if I’m struggling a little bit”.
Hartø is scheduled to participate in two of three tournaments that will be played under Nordic swing - the Finnish Challenge and ECCO Tour Championship, hosted by Thomas Björn and Mercedes-Benz.
He did not commit to play the Norwegian Challenge, the third event in the swing.
