Andreas Hinkel signs one-year deal with SC Freiburg – Bundesliga news
Struggling German club http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andreas-Hinkel-c5733 on a one-year deal. Hinkel will stay at the club until the end of this season and will be looking forward to save his new team in the relegation battle.
Freiburg are currently 15th on the league table with seven points and are three points adrift of the bottom placed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hamburger-SV-c39485. Marcus Sorg’s side have had a difficult start to the 2011/12 campaign and the introduction of Hinkel in defence could
be a blessing in disguise for the rest of the competition.
Hinkel ran out of contract with Celtic at the end of last season and was available on a free transfer before being snapped up by Freiburg. The 29-year-old recently passed his medical and is likely to be included in the club’s next league game against Hamburger
SV.
The player expressed delight at his transfer and vowed to live up to the expectations of the club. He also showed gratitude to Marcus Sorg for acknowledging his talent and assured him of the best performances during his one-year stay at the club.

He praised the Bhoys officials for giving him regular first team opportunities, enabling him to develop skills and transform into a much better player and a versatile defender.
While talking to local press regarding his transfer, the German international added, "I am very happy that I have signed for Freiburg and the waiting is over. I want to be fully involved in the team from day one and it is great that I have joined such a
well-run club."
This is Hinkel’s second stint in the Bundesliga, having previously represented http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfB-Stuttgart-c40879 for six years (2000-2006). He spent two years with Sevilla before tying knots with Celtic in 2008.
The right-back made 79 league appearances at Celtic Park and earned his http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 debut way back in 2003 and so far has 21 caps to his name.
