FC Augsburg Sporting Director Andreas Rettig has revealed that he will leave the club at the end of the season citing personal reasons.
The Director insisted that he has spent six great years with the Bundesliga club and admitted it was the best time in his life. He claimed that his decision was purely on personal grounds and insisted that he has no clashes with
the club management, as reported in the media recently.
Rettig joined the club in the role of a Sporting Director in the summer of 2006 and has since guided the side to the heights of success. The Bavarian side reached the last four of the German Cup two years back and were promoted
to the Bundesliga for the first time in their history.
Andreas Rettig claimed that these six years have been the best for him professionally and admitted that it was an honour to work with a club like FC Augsburg.
“I've had six fantastic, eventful years at Augsburg and have reached this decision on purely personal grounds. None of the other posts I've held in professional football have given me as much http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 satisfaction,” he was quoted as
saying in an interview.
The chief has set his sights on keeping the club in the Bundesliga for the next season. He admitted that his main aim would be to make sure the side stays in the first division for another year as the players have the passion and
determination to make it possible.
“I'm sure FCA are on the threshold of another great leap forward in the professional game and I'm confident that together, we will achieve our central aim this season and keep our place in the Bundesliga,” he concluded.
FC Augsburg have been poor in their maiden Bundesliga campaign and are currently in 17th place with 15 points. The side has won three times and has tasted defeat on eight occasions already. 
The club will play arguably their most important match of the season against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/SC-Freiburg-c40462 when they return from the winter break next month. Freiburg are bottom with 13 points and are in desperate need of results.
