Andreas Seppi outfoxes Malek Jaziri in the semi-finals – Kremlin Cup 2012
Italian right-hander, Andreas Seppi, successfully entered into the final round of the Bank of Moscow Kremlin Cup 2012 on Saturday. He consolidated his straight sets win, 6-3, 6-1, against the Tunisian professional, Malek Jaziri,
at in door hard courts of Moscow, Russia.
Seppi in a post match interview said, "It is the end of the season, but I am going to give it all in my last three events – Moscow, Basel and Paris. It has been the best year in my career so far and I feel great playing indoors.
With Bellucci, there will be a lot of rallies. It is a final and we will both want to win so badly."
The right-hander Tunisian professional commenced the opening set with confidence and sustained the pressure. The score line levelled down to 2-all in the fourth game but the Italian senior cashed his rival’s serve in the very next
game to mark a 3-2 lead. Jaziri’s serve progressively died out and he was unable to defend any further. Seppi cashed all his opponent’s serve in the second half of the set and stole the initial set with a 6-3 lead.
In the second set, the 28-year-old, Seppi, stepped forward with a strong resolve to snatch victory. He exhibited his greater experience by dissolving his opponent’s initial serve and laid down a 5-love lead. However, he held his
serve the entire time in the set without facing any difficulty, which completely crushed his challenger’s confidence. The Italian bagged away all the points with every successive game, stealing the win by a bread stick.
The world number 25, Seppi, secured 62 percent initial serve and took a lead by snatching away 23 of 33 first and 11 of 20 second delivery points. Fortunately, he bagged away five of 12 serve breaks and his rival attained just
one of three. The right-hander Tunisian double faulted five times and completely lost his momentum. He converted 20 of 34 first and 10 of 32 second serve points, with 52 percent initial serve accuracy,
For the final match of the ATP World Tour 250 Event, the second seeded player will contest against Thomaz Bellucci.
