Arsenal winger Andrei Arshavin feels that the Gunners’ less hectic fixture list will help them go past Premier League leaders Manchester United and win the title in the ongoing 2010-11 season.
Arshavin wants his teammates to give their best performances in all of the remaining matches of the current campaign in order to land the title.
Arshavin said, “I think our schedule is not so bad, that is why if we win all our games we have a good chance to be champions. I think everyone in our team would prefer to have more possibilities than only one trophy, but everything is in the past, that
is why we have to concentrate on the Premier League matches.”
“Straight after it was very difficult for everyone, but now we have come back after the internationals and have refreshed our minds and maybe it will help us. I think we are in the race,” added the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Russia-c2991 international.
Arsenal are strongly positioned second in the Premier League standings, only five points behind Manchester United with a game in hand. The Gunners are the only team left in the Barclays Premier League who can beat Manchester United for the crown, as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786
(3rd) and Manchester City (4th) have no chance to catch Sir Alex Ferguson’s men.
Arsene Wenger’s team missed a golden opportunity to go on level with Manchester United as they only managed to get a draw against bottom-placed West Bromwich Albion recently. On the other hand, Manchester United earned all three points with a hard fought
victory over Bolton Wanderers and increased their lead over Arsenal to five points.
Arsenal will host Manchester United on 1 May, 2011 at the Emirates Stadium in what could potentially be the title deciding fixture of the season.
Moreover, Arsenal have not a won a single piece of silverware in last six years and their recent exit from three cup competitions means that their hopes of ending their trophy drought are solely dependent on the Premier League.
