Russian international and Arsenal forward Andrei Arshavin has gone on to admit that he is gutted after watching Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri leave the Emirates.
However, the player also went on to admit that the team will now have to dramatically change their style of playing football following their new signings, but with Wenger at the hot seat, it won’t be long before the team can get up and running once again.
When talking about the loss of Fabregas and Nasri, the thirty year old attacker is quoted to have said: "The loss of Fabregas and Nasri is very significant.”
He then went on to talk about the conversation that he had with Bendtner during the game against Udinese.
"When sitting on the bench during the Udinese game, I told Bendtner that we have no players who can feed van Persie or use the strong sides of other forwards. Bendtner said that only Xavi could have replaced Cesc.”
The forward then ended by stating that with the new additions to the squad, the team was set to play a different style of football altogether.
"With Arteta and other players in his position, we will play different football from that of Cesc and Samir period"
Arshavin then went on to highlight that the new additions to the team were bound to help them improve on their current form and from here on, the team had no more excuses of being below par, when compared to the rest of the league.
The Russian admitted that the defensive signings made by the team were brilliant and would really help the team stabilize their backline and this in turn would help the team perform even better up front.
Having said that, Arshavin needs to realize that with Nasri and Fabregas gone, the team really needed him to step up and feed Van Persie the killer balls that he could score off, of. The Russian has been well below par this season and has seemed to somehow
forget how to play football altogether.
He has been slow, lazy and all over the place. All in all, Arshavin needs to rediscover himself, or it could be the end of his career at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429, once the current season comes to an end.
At the same time, the player is right about the Gunners having to adapt to the new players, since they are now more than likely to play a much more direct game, which could lead to them scoring a whole lot more goals.
