Dan Petrescu has urged the Russian Premier League club to look elsewhere after Arsenal named the 31-year-old striker in their UEFA Champions League squad
Reports in the Russian media suggest that Dynamo Moscow failed in a last ditch attempt to sign http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andrei-Arshavin-c5771 from English Premier League outfit, Arsenal FC, during the summer transfer window.
Media suggested that the Dinamiki failed to meet the player’s valuation and hefty wage demands at first. The Gunners initially wanted ten million Euros for the injury-prone striker, but they lowered their demands just to lessen
the overall payroll.
Arshavin was a top target for mega-rich Anzhi Makhachkala and defending Russian Premier League champions, Zenit St. Petersburg, this summer. The Russian Cup winner even came to St. Petersburg from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 to sort out his future
earlier this month.
However, Luciano Spalletti did not make a formal bid for Arshavin as the Italian tactician was not particularly impressed by the out-of-form striker, who scored just three goals in ten league appearances.
Dan Petrescu has confirmed that Arshavin, who spent six-month loan spell at Zenit before making a return to the Emirates stadium, last month, himself declined an opportunity to play for the Moscow-based club.
"I do not know why Arshavin refused to come here. Although I have never spoken with the player before but when the leaders of the club asked me about Arshavin, I said I want good players. But Arshavin was not interested to come
here. Ask him.”
“We will help the players that are here at the club. We still can buy one now despite the club is struggling to raise funds.” The Romanian Cup winner was quoted as saying.
One particular reason for not joining the Moscow-based club could be the Russian outfit’s current league position. The Dinamiki are at the bottom spot on the league table after recording one win in seven outings.
If speculations are to be believed, the White-blues are interested in bringing back http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vagner-c35793 Love to the Russian championship.
Petrescu has asked the fans to remain patient, telling them that it is going to take little time before they can reclaim the top-spot on the league table.
