Aleksandr Tarkhanov believes Zenit St. Petersburg have succeeded to replace the Portuguese midfielder by signing the Arsenal player on loan.
The fact that Zenit St. Petersburg have signed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andrei-Arshavin-c5771 from Arsenal on loan pleases Aleksandr Tarkhanov, who believes that the Russian outfit did good business inviting Arshavin back to the Russian Premier League to replace
the injured Danny Miguel.
Arshavin, who left the Petrovsky stadium to join the North London club back in 2009, returned to the Russian top division after spending a not-so-good tenure at the Emirates Stadium.
He failed to win a starting berth under Arsene Wenger despite the departures of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carlos-Eduardo-c8421 during the last two English Premier League seasons.
However, Tarkhanov still believes that Arshavin would be back to his best when the league campaign resumes on March 03, 2012. With 12 league rounds to play, Zenit are atop the league table with 65 points.
Luciano Spalletti, the St. Petersburg club’s head coach, has signed Arshavin as a potential replacement to their attacking midfielder, Danny. The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 playmaker is believed to spend the rest of the season on the sidelines
after sustaining a knee injury.
Tarkhanov admitted that Zenit needed a quick replacement ahead of the crucial third league round. He tipped the Russian outfit to retain the league title this season and warned them against complacency.
“The first step is to see in what condition and how Arshavin will fit into the team. I do not think he will have problems with adaptation. He grew up in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Russia-c2991 and is familiar with Zenit.  In general, there is every reason to hope
that the replacement will be seamless.” The former CSKA Moscow player was quoted as saying.
Tarkhanov went on to admit that Arshavin performed better, for Zenit, as compared to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danny-c10193, expressing that the Russian players are far better than the Portuguese.
“In my opinion, one has to take chances. If you go into a foreign club, you need to find a familiar way of life and training. The players, coach and the fans will welcome Arshavin with open arms.” Tarkhanov concluded.
