Sandor Varga believes that Arsenal winger is not in his prime form to help the Russian outfit and wanted to leave the North London Club badly.
Well-known East European football agent, Sandor Varga, has expressed his surprise over Andrei Arshavin’s loan move to Zenit St. Petersburg. The 30-year-old signed a six-month contract at Petrovsky stadium on the transfer
deadline day.
If speculations are to be believed, Zenit signed Arshavin after failing to sign Lokomotiv Moscow midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Denis-Glushakov-c10855, during the transfer window.
Arshavin, who left the Petrovsky stadium back in 2009 for a reported 15.5 million pounds, returned to his former club after failing to feature in the first team under Arsene Wenger this season.
The Russian Cup winner was set to leave the Emirates stadium during the last transfer window but he changed his mind following http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Barcelona-c39078 respectively.
Though the shocking departures gave Arshavin some hope of receiving more playing time, he stayed down in the pecking order following the arrival of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mikel-Arteta-c25715 from Everton at the start of the season.
Varga had earlier tipped Anzhi Makhachkala to sign the Arsenal attacker midfielder during the winter transfer window. However, the Dagestani club failed to convince the winger-c*m striker to
make a move to the ambitious Russian outfit.
“Arshavin is talented despite his recent dip in form. He has not forgotten how to play football. I think he should join Anzhi because they can give him a complete package.” The Russian national had said.
Speaking on Arshavin’s emotional return to Zenit, Varga has now revealed that Arshavin will not be an immediate solution to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luciano-c22574 Spalletti’s problems.
“Spalletti has a great team, with a balanced composition of one of the best in Europe. I don’t think Arshavin can help the St. Petersburg." Varga was quoted as saying.
However, Varga admitted that Arshavin would get more playing time at Zenit following injuries to their star players.
