Andrei Kobelev resigned as Krylia Sovetov Samara’s head coach after failing to provide the desired results in the Russian Premier League. As thing stand, the Wings of the Soviet are at the 12th spot on the league table
with just 13 points.
It has been announced on the club’s official website that the 44-year-old coach has resigned with dignity after just 18 month in-charge. Though Kobelev managed to save Krylia from relegation last season, he failed to meet the expectations
this season.
There is little arguing to the statement that Krylia have struggled to impress the audience from the start of the league campaign this season after failing to claim a win from their last seven league outings.
The Rats, meanwhile, got themselves eliminated from the Russian Cup after losing the cup tie 2-1 against Anzhi Makhachkala at Dynamo stadium (Makhachkala).
If speculations are to be believed, Aleksandr Borodyuk- who recently acted as Dynamo Moscow’s sporting director after ending his playing career at the Samara-based club- is likely to become the new manager at Metallurg stadium.
