Andreina Pinto seizes Women’s 400m freestyle gold – USA Swimming Sectionals, Fort Lauderdale
Andreina Pinto of Gator Swim Club seized gold medal of the Women’s 400m freestyle on day three of the 2012 USA Swimming Sectionals in Fort Lauderdale on Saturday, July 14.
The 20-year-old Pinto showered her expertise in the eight-lap freestyle discipline and remained considerably ahead of her opponents for gold medal of the event.
Her immaculate efforts placed her considerably ahead of her opponents throughout the discipline as she touched the wall with the timing of 4 minutes and 16.79 seconds.
The champion was chased by Yanel A Pinto of Gator Swim Club, who stayed 0.61 seconds apart and occupied silver medal of the discipline by clocking a time of 4 minutes and 17.40 seconds.
The second position holder was chased by Autumn S Finke of Saint Petersburg, who stayed nearly six seconds apart and proved her mettle for bronze medal of the discipline by producing a time of 4 minutes and 23.07 seconds.
The bronze medallist was chased by Stephan Nasson of Adirondack A.C., who remained 0.41 seconds behind and posted a time of 4 minutes and 23.48 seconds for fourth best spot of the event.
The 18-year-old Nasson was chased by Mel Marinheiro of South Florida Aquatics, who stayed just one arm-stroke behind and ended her swim in fifth best place by submitting a time of 4 minutes and 23.57 seconds.
Sixth position of the mediocre distant event was obtained by CeCe Williams of Area Tallahassee, who was two body lengths behind and settled on the finishing blockade with an effort of 4 minutes and 25.51 seconds.
Similarly, Williams was trailed by Olivia Katcher of Swim Ft Lauderdale, who was 1.48 seconds apart and gained seventh position of the event by reporting a time of 4 minutes and 26.99 seconds.
Katcher enjoyed a benefit of 0.62 seconds over her following rival, Megan Moroney of Saint Andrew’s, who ended up her race in eighth best place by touched the wall with the timing of 4 minutes and 27.61 seconds.
Pinto was extremely happy with her gold winning effort and said that she would continue her efforts and will try to represent her county at the Olympic Games.
