21st August: Barcelona were to face Sevilla at home in a Spanish Super Cup final. The Catalan giants were defeated by Sevilla during the away leg as
they travelled to the home ground of Sevilla and got a 1-3 thrashing. However, Andres Iniesta appeared during the second leg as Sevilla visited the Nou Camp and Barcelona were the side who won the game 4-0 to win the first trophy of the season. It was Andres
Iniesta’s first official game of Barcelona’s 2010-2011 season and the Spaniard helped his side to victory.
29th August: Barcelona faced Racing Santander away from home in the first Spanish La Liga fixture of the 2010-2011 season. The Argentinean maestro Lionel
Messi took Barcelona in front during the 4th minute of the game, but it was Andres Iniesta who scored his first league goal in the first match that he was playing in the Spanish La Liga. The score line was 0-3 at the end of the game, but Iniesta’s
goal was taken as one of the best goals of the season even though it was only the first game of the season.
16th October: Barcelona’s squad looked to be very tired as most of them played during the FIFA World Cup 2010 and barely got a vacation, but despite
the fact that they were struggling, they still gave their best. On 16 October 2010, the Catalan giants found themselves a goal down against Valencia as the “table toppers” were taking control of the game at the Nou Camp. However, the Spanish midfielder decided
not to give up yet again and scored the first goal for his side to start a comeback at the Nou Camp. Later, Barcelona won the game 2-1, which took them to the 2nd spot of the Spanish La Liga table.
11th November: Four months after his FIFA World Cup 2010’s winning goal, Andres Iniesta presented his shirt that he wore during the FIFA World Cup final,
to Espanyol. The T-shirt clearly gave out a message to the former Spanish captain Daniel Jarque and Andres Iniesta only showed it as a gesture of solidarity.
20th November: Barcelona were to face the Spanish side Almeria who were struggling at the bottom of the table. The game was only one week before the
“El Clasico”, the Spanish Champions had to send a message and they sure did. Andres Iniesta scored the second goal as Guardiola’s men destroyed Almeria with a score line of 0-8 on their home ground. With Iniesta scoring one goal for Barcelona it was Lionel
Messi who scored a hat trick with Bojan Krkic scoring a brace off the bench and it was the Almeria captain who scored an own goal to make it 0-8 for Barcelona.
29th November: Andres Iniesta shows why he is such an extraordinary player as Barcelona face their arch nemesis the Los Blancos. Andres Iniesta dominated
the midfield throughout the game and helped Xavi Hernandez with the first goal of the game as Barcelona won the game 5-0 in their home ground the Nou Camp.
6th December: Andres Iniesta became one of the three players who were nominated for the FIFA Pilota d’Or for his extraordinary performance with Spain
and his club Barcelona. Andres Iniesta has had a fantastic year and so far, he has played all the games for Barcelona in the Spanish La Liga.
