The midfield maestro has downplayed the importance of individual accolades as he believes that playing football is more important than being awarded for it.
Barcelona’s Andres Iniesta has taken out time to speak about the FIFA Ballon d’Or and has expressed that he is not aspiring to win the award as it is not a priority for him.
According to the Spaniard, he loves to play football and contribute towards the success achieved by La Blaugrana. In addition, he voiced that people already recognize him for his performance on the pitch which is enough for him to be satisfied.
Moreover, he stressed that he loves his current club and that playing for them is more important than being given an individual award.
The maestro then went on to assert that he is not dreaming about winning the Golden Ball. He suggested that other players have the award always in their mind, however, he is not among them and is not obsessed with the idea of winning the Ballon d’Or.

"I try to play my football and it is important that the people recognise my work, but I do not necessarily think about it," the Blaugrana playmaker told RMC.
