When quizzed regarding the next Ballon d’Or winner, the Spanish international stated that he has no favorites, although he added that he would like a http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 player to win the award. He stated that the three players are the best in the world and are deserving
of praise.
"The three that are there are the three best, as they have decided, but I have two colleagues and I will be happy for one of them to win," he said.
The Catalan midfielder was present at the Albacete Sports Gala where he let his views known. He received the award for Sports Excellence from the local community.
Iniesta is revered in Albacete where he was born and had his initial footballing education before moving on to Catalonia.
He took time out to shed some words of support for Albacete, as his neighbourhood team progressed to Copa del Rey Round of 16 after beating Atletico Madrid. He expressed his jubilation at the win and wished for them to join the Spanish top flight football
at the end of the season.
The 27-year-old reflected that it would have been nice to welcome the team to the Camp Nou, and added that he is still happy for them, hoping that the minnows continue further in the cup competition.
The attacking midfielder recently bought shares of Albacete CF, which makes him a majority stakeholder in the club.
When asked why he acquired the maximum available shares, Iniesta gave a simple reply:
"It was a possibility that always existed. I had already talked with my family and the president of Albacete. I have never hidden my love for this team, this city and my people."
He reflected that he had a chance to lend a hand to the society and could not let the opportunity slip past him. The World Cup winner added that help from within is always appreciated.
"Whenever we people can lend a hand, we do so, because it comes from within," he said.
