Andres Villas Boas has come out and stated that he has the backing of Chelsea’s owner Abramovich in the current crisis at the club which can see them bow out of the title race as early as December as well as the UEFA Champions
league.
Villas Boas’ Chelsea have disappointed up till now in the English Premier League as they lost their latest encounter at Stamford Bridge to Liverpool last weekend by two goals to one. Before that, Villas Boas’ outfit lost to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429
on their home turf by five goals to three which was seen as an entertaining game which brought out Chelsea’s frailties at the back.
The Blues who were set up as one of the Premier League title contenders this season have lived up to their fans’ expectations and now they are seen as one of the teams fighting for a UEFA Champions League qualification place in
the English Premier League standings.
However all of that can change over the course of the season if Chelsea recover from their current blip in form which has seen them lose to three of the top four teams in the English Premier League already namely, Manchester United,
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 and Arsenal.
In UEFA Champions League, Chelsea are on the brink of elimination as well if they lose to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 next week then the Blues can kiss their European Cup dreams good bye for at least another season. Villas Boas spoke to the press
recently amidst rumours that he was going to be sacked by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 sooner rather than later.
The Portuguese manager said, "Not critical meetings, no animosity, not insults here and there, no critique whatsoever regarding what we are doing, no doubts whatsoever regarding what we are doing. Self-confidence and self-belief
is what we need now and everybody wants to get it. That thing only comes with wins. The philosophy will be the last thing to die at this club. It's a thing that makes technical staff and players very, very proud."
Villas Boas will hope that Chelsea win against Wolverhampton Wanderers this season because anything other than a positive result for the Blues can result in disastrous consequences for the former Premier League champions.
