Andrew Bogut opens up about his ankle injury on twitter – NBA Update
Last season, Golden State Warriors became the first ever team in the NBA to play a starting lineup consisting of all five rookies in their season finale. The reason behind taking such drastic measures was the frequent downfall
of their experienced players due to various kinds of injuries.
There is no doubt that if the Warriors are able to keep most of the roster fit to play, they can be a far more respectable team than last season and might even be in contention for the last few playoff positions in the Western
Conference.
They would be glad to find out that Andrew Bogut is starting to recover from his ankle injury. The Australian was the number 1 draft pick by the Milwaukee Bucks in 2005 but, falling victim to all kinds of injuries has not allowed
him to have much of an impact in the NBA, and last year was no different.
However with two months remaining till training camp for next season start, Bogut has tweeted that his ankle is close to being fully recovered.
“Training over. Good News on ankle: selling is getting close to being all gone. Bad News: The less swelling the more achy it gets! #toughenup” – Bogut on his twitter account.
The Warriors would like Bogut to shake off the rustiness before training camp. They Australian can still be a formidable force on the defensive end, however Golden State would want much more than that, something closer to his form
of 2009-10 season during which he averaged career high numbers of 15.9 points 10.2 rebounds per game.
If Bogut returns back to being his best, he can certainly be an asset to the Warriors, who at the moment need all the help they can get.
Bogut is not the only star player under the injury cloud. Stephen Curry, the fourth year combo guard, is also recovering from an ankle injury. He had surgery on his right ankle which caused him to miss 40 games last season. The
same ankle has caused him a lot of problem in the last three years and he would be hoping that it recovers for good this around.
