Andrew Bogut set to return for Milwaukee Bucks – NBA Update
The Milwaukee Bucks have been handed a boost after it was confirmed that centre Andrew Bogut is set to return to the side. The talented centre has been in Australia for some undisclosed personal business and therefore missed some
games in the NBA.
Bogut, who is a key player for the Bucks, will be back in time for the faceoff with San Antonio Spurs. It would be a welcome return for the Bucks who have found the going tough since his sudden departure, losing six on a trot.
Bogut had left for Australia amid varying reports and it later emerged that the player was headed to his home country in order to sort out some personal issues. His agent David Bauman has confirmed that Andrew is dealing with some
issues at home and has not been away due to injury.
"Andrew feels bad that this serious personal matter caused him to miss four games and he will be ready to play Tuesday without limitations or restrictions," Bauman said.
Bogut has been extended unconditional support during the trying ordeal from his team and Bauman said the player was grateful for it.
"We do not expect to comment further, but Andrew appreciates the support and understanding during this difficult time that he has received from his teammates, Bucks' management and the Bucks' fans. In particular, he also appreciates
how the media and fans respected his request for privacy during these past few days."
The centre was the first overall pick in 2005 NBA draft and has been solid for Milwaukee ever since. He hasn’t lived up to some lofty expectations perhaps because of various injury issues during his career so far. Just at the back
end of last season the player suffered a serious elbow injury and after another setback in Australia was a doubt for starting the season.
Although he overcame the medical issue he has had to deal with some personal baggage since then which has been tough for the player. Bogut is known to interact with his fans on the social networking website Twitter but has gone
quiet on that platform as well since January 3rd.
He has however been able to keep it all private and the media hasn’t really gotten air of what is going on. The centre is therefore looking forward to returning with a clear mind and concentrating on performing for the Bucks without
any distractions.
Bogut has featured in just 4 games so far this season and has averaged 14.3 points, 10.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.8 blocks per game. His career averages stand at 12.8 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. The Bucks are thus hopeful
that his early good form could be the harbinger of a breakout season for the Australia native.
