Andrew Hall signs 2-year extension with Northamptonshire CCC – Cricket News Update
The Northamptonshire skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Andrew-Hall-c1040, confirmed his stay at the Wantage Road till 2014 by signing a two-year contract extension with the Northamptonshore County Cricket Club.
The 36-year-old former South African all-rounder said that he had a good season at County Grounds and hoped to continue with his good form in the next two years.
"I've had a good season and I hope to continue to help the county achieve their ambitions," said Andrew Hall .
"When I started here, David Capel [the Northants head coach] and I said we wanted to bring through the next group of local, young players, and with me staying for 12 months of the year, it gives me a great opportunity to work with them," he added further.
Hall made his debut at the County Ground in 2008, and since then has scored 3,074 first-class runs for the County besides compiling 1,447 limited overs runs.
The middle-order batsman and a successful right-arm medium pacer, had a successful season with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Northamptonshire-c824, where he scored 960 runs in the County Championship Division Two at an average of over 50, including two centuries as well.
With the ball, the South African claimed 28 wickets from 16 County Championship matches. However, he missed out on a promotion to the Division One for the next season.
The head coach of Northants, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/David-John-Capel-c52927, praised Hall for his performance over the past couple of years, specially his work with the bat in this year’s County Championship, and hoped the South African all-rounder will continue with his form.
"Andrew has done particularly well for us over the past few years. Again he is leading the way with the bat this year, in terms of playing some very important innings, especially in the Championship,” said Capel while talking to the media reporters.
