Andrew Ladd terms the Players Assoictaion to be 'Unified' with locking closing in -NHL Update
The conditions are perfect at the moment within the National Hockey League (NHL) for the perfect storm to brew up and take everything and everyone with it, but Winnipeg Jets’ captain, Andrew Ladd, has termed the NHL Players Association (NHLPA) to be ‘unified’
entirely without one single misconception.
A lockout is a serious threat at the moment for the scheduled 2012-2013 NHL regular season, but the players union is willing to stand in front of it and face the whole situation in the face with no fear.
“You go in hoping there is going to be a breakthrough, but it’s one of those things that you’re probably just going day-by-day and moving on,” said Ladd. According to the Calgary Sun. “It’s more to keep informed and we should have lots of guys there, so
you should get a good pulse on how everyone is feeling and hopefully know where this thing is going a little better. You realize that everything takes time and you have to be patient, but you have to be able to stand up for what you believe in.”
There are some who believe that the two sides will be able to reach a new deal and announce a new collective bargaining agreement, but insiders have termed this upcoming weekend the time when NHL commissioner Gary Bettman comes out and makes another lockout,
the second one for the NHL in a decade, official.
One thing the labour union believes is fair to take the stance and go through a lockout is that what they believe in is just and not above the board like many have termed them to be in the past. According to the players, they are looking for their rights
and the league, especially Gary Bettman, is not willing to give that to them, ultimately resulting in a limitless lockout.
Andrew Ladd is also worrisome about another thing and that is what the Winnipeg Jets fans will be missing out on. They barely got to see it playing in one season and unfortunately, might not see it again for quite some time if a lockout does come into play.
