Andrew Luck has no qualms about where he ends up after 2012 drafts - NFL News
Stanford University’s quarterback Andrew Luck may be the number one draft pick in the upcoming National Football League but he does not have any qualms about the franchise that drafts him.
Luck in his latest news conference on Wednesday said that he does not mind which team drafts him and wherever the quarterback will end up will be the best decision for him.
"My preferences haven't changed," the Stanford quarterback said at a Fiesta Bowl news conference. "Wherever I land, it will be great. I am not rooting for one team to win or lose or whatever."
Luck has been impressing scouts and National Football League Coaches monitoring his progress with his performances. The quarterback has been in great form this season breaking his own record of 32 touchdown passes in a season with 35 touchdowns this year
and is a shoo-in to become the number one draft pick in the 2012 drafts.
Indianapolis Colts were most recently the front runner to get the first pick in the 2012 drafts two weeks ago as the Colts had failed to win a single game this season. The Colts are without their star quarterback Peyton Manning for the entirety of the season
due to multiple neck surgeries and their horrendous form has seen the once mighty Colts down at the bottom of the American Football Conference South.
Results over the past two weeks however, have made things much more complex in the race for the first pick. With the Colts winning their previous two games, St. Louis Rams are now in the picture to compete for the pick. If the Colts win their final game
in week 17 against Jacksonville Jaguars the Rams would surely get first pick crushing Colts fans dreams of seeing Peyton Manning grooming Luck to become the future star of their franchise.
All these scenarios however, do not hold much importance to Luck who is fully focused for Stanford’s game against Oklahoma State University on Monday.
"I'm not going to say I don't care about (the draft) because I do care about football. Wherever I end up, I'm sure it will be the best spot for me."
The quarterback in a classic display of modesty even said that he did not know the Rams were in contention for his signature saying
"Who knows if I will be the first pick or not."
Colts fans will be for once hoping that their team loses to Jacksonville Jaguars in game week 17 of the National Football League so that they do get the first pick. However, that scenario will be made difficult as selecting a good team among them is like
choosing between the devil and the deep blue sea.
