Andrew Miller talks about his poor inning in Boston Red Sox loss to Toronto Blue Jays – MLB News
Andrew Miller pitched for the Boston Red Sox on Thursday, September 8, as the team lost their final series game to the Toronto Blue Jays, 4–7 at Rogers Centre, Toronto.
Miller was provided a chance to pick up a valuable win after a prior game loss to the Texas Rangers. The player was unable to pick up the victory. He was available for comments after the recent game ended.
Andrew did well against the Kansas City Royals and the Texas Rangers before he moved on to his two recent losses. The star pitcher conceded fives off eight hits in five innings of pitching. His quality starts that presided the last two games seem like a
good distance away. His current ERA is 5.58 and he is 6–3 so far in the season.
"You know, there are flashes, but there are still runs put up on the board," Red Sox manager Terry Francona said.
Miller’s bad start in the game came in the second inning when the star allowed three consecutive singles to the Toronto Blue Jays' hitters. David Cooper would go on to avail a RBI single to left-field, to bring up the first run for the Blue Jays. J. P. Arencibia
would then come in to smash a booming three–run homer to left-field, allowing three more runs to flood the score board.
"I felt good. Basically, one inning I think came back and bit me," said Miller. "I started off with a weak infield ground ball, good piece of hitting. Then a blooper. On 3-2 (to Arencibia, I) threw a changeup down in the zone, and it just kind of cut back
down and in right into his swing. Obviously I want that one back, but it's tough to go out there and put us behind like that. That's not what you want to do."
Miller was unable to keep things in the box as Edwin Encarnacion smashed a homer in the third against the pitcher. Miller’s five runs left a bad taste in the Red Sox mouth.
