Andrew Strauss believes decision on Kevin Pietersen will be in the interest of England – Cricket News Update
Former England skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/KP-Pietersen-c1806’s future will be in the interest of England cricket.
Talking to Sky Sports News, Strauss said, "In an ideal world, it wouldn't have happened in the first place but it did and in an ideal world I would still be around to help sort it out, but that wasn't the case either. There are some important decisions to be made there by Andy [Flower] and Alistair [Cook] and the selectors but they will do what's right for English cricket and that's the main thing."
In Strauss’ last Test match as skipper, Kevin Pietersen faced an axe after the all-rounder was caught in a controversy involving him sending provocative texts to South African players critical of Strauss.
However, the matter is being considered by the ECB, which would have the final word on KP’s international career as an England player.
Meanwhile, the all-rounder has expressed his desire to continue playing for England in all formats of the game.
Talking about England's preparations for the upcoming World T20 Champion in Sri Lanka where the Poms will be defending their T20 title under the captaincy of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SCJ-Broad-c2465, Strauss expressing confidence in the English team reckoned, “I think in Twenty20 cricket, there's always a slight lottery aspect to it but we've got some really exciting players. I think there's a lot of confidence in the group still from what happened in the last Twenty20 World Cup. I don't see any reason why we can't go the whole way."
