Andrew Strauss expects Australia revival
England skipper Andrew Strauss has said that he expects Australia to make a revival in cricket soon.
The 2010-11 Ashes series is all over for the Aussies and they would be very disappointed to lose at home in over two decades. Most of the Australian batsmen were unable to deliver in the series and performed in patches.
The Brisbane Test was the only Test of substance for Australia as it involved a hat trick from Peter Siddle and a splendid hundred from their champion batsman Michael Hussey. But apart from Hussey, there was not much contribution from their top batsmen as
most of them struggled to score during the series. On the other hand, England performed in a completely opposite manner and most of their players fired at the right time for them.
Andrew Strauss was of the view that Australian players are still good enough and like every player, they do lose confidence. Not only Australian batsmen, but also their bowlers struggled to find the right line and length against England.
Strauss added that Australia have a good cricketing structure which continuously produces good players. He said that Australia are going to make a revival soon and would come back as a strong team in cricket. Aussies would have a good chance in England in
2013 since most of their current inexperienced players would be groomed by then.
Andrew Strauss admitted that he did not expect his team to win three Test matches by an innings margin. Australia had suffered only three innings defeats since 1988 before the start of 2010 Ashes. But they suffered perhaps the most embarrassing defeat of
their history as they lost three Test matches by an innings margin in one series.
The five-match Ashes series ended 3-1 in favour of the visitors. Only the first Test could not produce any result whereas http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 won the third Test to level the series at 1-1. At that time, it was widely anticipated that the home team might be able to
pull off a remarkable series win but Strauss and his men had other plans. They not only won the next two matches, but did so comprehensively to leave Australia in shambles.
