Andrew Strauss expects Graeme Swann to shine as T20 captain – Cricket News Update
England’s Test skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/GP-Swann-c1501’s ability to lift the side during the two Twenty20 Internationals against West Indies.
Due to injury concerns of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SCJ-Broad-c2465 who was recently appointed as England’s regular T20 captain, Swann was given the responsibility to lead the troop in a couple of T20 games against the Caribbean Kings, scheduled  to be held at Oval on September 23 and
September 25, 2011.
Since the attacking off-spinner has no prior captaincy experience, all eyes are glued on Swann who was earlier surprised to be given the big responsibility.
However, Strauss has shown full trust on the off-spinner, expecting Swann to come up as mature competitor during the crucial clash against the Windies.
"I think he will do a really good job. He has always been a very important part of the dressing room and the sort of guy who other people listen to, so he will do a great job. He is under no illusion that he will be taking over as the full-time captain,
but I think it will do him good, he will enjoy it," said Strauss who recently guided the Englishmen to convincing 4-0 win against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750.
After meeting http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 in two T20 matches, the Poms will fly to India for the five-game One day International (ODI) series next month.
England’s last visit to India for limited-over competition was during the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 World Cup 2011 when the side failed to quality into the semi-final round under the leadership of Strauss.
The confidence of the Englishmen is certainly on a high after their recent cracking victory in the One-dayers against the World Champions. Yet, the English Test skipper has warned his side not to take things lightly, as the Men in Blue will be a very tough
opposition at their home conditions.
"I am sure they will be a different prospect in India. It will be a lot harder for our guys. They will want to avenge their defeat but the guys go there full of confidence. It will be a good test for them," added the 34-year-old skipper who has served his
country in 127 ODIs.
