Andrew Strauss gets Geoff Miller's backing – Cricket News Update
The ECB national selector, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Geoffrey-Miller-c58870, on Sunday stepped forward to support the beleaguered Test captain of England, Andrew Strauss, saying the board and selectors stand by the left-hander despite his poor show with the bat this year.

and the ECB selectors are confident he can do so for another couple.
"He is the England captain, a successful England captain over the last two or three years or so," said the national selector, hoping the left-hander will soon regain his lost form.
"He has probably not scored the amount of runs he would have liked. But I'm sure they're just round the corner. He is a quality player," said the 59-year-old former Derbyshire cricketer.
Andrew Strauss, the 35-year-old left-handed opening batsman has not scored a century in the Test format of the game since November 2010. His last Test century against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 in the 2010-11 Ashes series at Gabba, is his lone century in the last fifty

Since http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013’s poor show against the lowly ranked Pakistan and Sri Lanka teams, there have been growing calls to axe Strauss as the Test captain. However, Miller said that Strauss will remain captain until the ECB selectors feel it necessary to remove
him.
