Andrew Strauss has his eyes  set on England’s tour of subcontinent this winter – Cricket News Update
After outclassing India in the four-match Test series and having climbed up to the top of the ICC Test rankings table, the triumphant England skipper, Andrew Strauss, has his eyes set on England’s tour of the subcontinent later this year.
The 34-year-old South Africa-born top order batsman of England said on Tuesday that fans must be eager to see how well the Poms perform in the subcontinent later this year before accepting them as the numero uno Test side. He urged his men not to be
complacent after thrashing India 4-0 saying that it is always tough to win a series in the overseas conditions.
"Winning away from home is always more difficult," said Strauss while talking to the media reporters on Tuesday.
"We should be competitive in our conditions against anyone in the world. Away from home is harder, so we're going to have to challenge ourselves to improve away from home - and then it's about maintaining standards and performance, and being consistent,"
he added further.
Strauss said that they have improved a lot over the previous 12 to 18 months and insisted that in order to prove their prowess they need to continue with their power-packed performance in the next couple of years as well.
England leapfrogged India into the number one spot on International Cricket Council’s Test rankings with an innings and 242 runs, crushing in Men in Blue in the third Test of the four-match series played at Edgbaston, before pushing Dhoni and his men
to the number three spot on http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625’s rankings with another innings thrashing at The Oval.
The hosts outclassed the on-tour formidable http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 wickets in all the four Tests. The Indian attack could
bundle England out in only one innings, the first innings of England at Trent Bridge, and struggled for 10 wickets in the rest.
Despite such clinical performance from his batsmen and bowlers, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AJ-Strauss-c964 feels the upcoming tour of India in October-November will be the acid Test for his side.
