England’s Test skipper, Andrew Strauss, discredits the notion of cricket being cleared of corruption, claiming that there are still some black spots in the industry, and that it is hard to control this menace completely.
However, the veteran batsman terms International Cricket Council and media’s vigilant attitude towards this issue as a good sign for a game that has been plagued with spot-fixing and other controversial issues.
While speaking to the media today, the captain said, “I don’t think it’s possible to say that cricket is clean. I think there is more awareness about it. It’s been in the news a lot, which is a good thing. There have been some consequences to what went on,
but it’s a hard thing to eradicate completely.”
