http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AJ-Strauss-c964 wants Team England to replicate Lord’s legacy at Trent Bridge – Cricket News Update
Andrew Strauss, the English Test skipper, has urged his team to replicate their thumping performances from the 1st Test at Lord’s in the 2nd game at Trent Bridge, against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750, in a bid to bag another marvellous victory. The two ace
cricketing nations of the world are going to start the second npower Test of the 4-match series today, July 29, 2011.
Starting on a winning note, the home team led the series 1-0 as they have won the opening match by 196 runs.
Strauss, who is h**l-bent to earn the No 1 spot in International Cricket Council’s Test rankings for his team, has mobilised the English to extend their thriving momentum to the 2nd Test and outplay the Men in Blue once again by capitalising on
the advantage of their home ground.
Talking to the media, the captain said, “The mind-set is that we have to repeat the hard work we did. We won the Test match but had to work very hard for it. There is always that slight propensity to take your foot off the gas a bit when you've won and congratulate
yourself and tap yourself on the back.”
He further told, “That is something we've tried to get away from in the last 18 months or so. We have to come ready to play tomorrow morning, just as desperate to earn the right to get on top - and then hopefully go on and win the game."
In the last game, Team http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 delivered tremendous all-rounding performances for the winning cause. Both the batsmen and bowlers contributed equally to maneuver the much-needed victory in the 2000th Test of the history.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/JM-Anderson-c1705 and Chris Tremlett shined with the ball.
Strauss, who thinks that the English are at the brink of becoming the top-ranked team, expects his players not to rest on the laurels and perpetuate the diligence to embrace the honour that they have been waiting and striving for since many years.
He opines that God has given them an ideal opportunity to materialise their long-cherished dream they will leave no stone unturned to make the most of it.
