this bloke has taken footy to an all new low, with his ridiculeus rule changes, turning the game soft and now this idiotic and purely stubborn decision to make a 17th team on the gold coast and an 18th team in western N.S.W down the track-all this to save face and keep his EGO in tact-will we be better off without Andrew??

  1. Lol

  2. Here we go again propping up another useless experiment, waiting for the AFL to give another made up interstate team a flag. The gold coast has been tried and failed before, and how long till we discover how deep the talent pool in Aussie rules really is. Is Andy going to drop lists back further to get players for these two new clubs, or is he just going to do the Brisbane Bears again and get the current clubs to give them the dregs.

To many questions not enough answers too much money for little results. Forget this bad experiment before its too late.

  3. yeah give the job to Sheedy

  4. Whats the good of an Australian rules club on the Gold Coast, when they are a rugby stronghold.

This is the only time that I will agree with Jeff Kennett, when he stated that we need less clubs, not more.

Let them have their Southport Sharks, and leave North Melbourne were they are.

When  the AFL  eventually organise a 17th club on the Gold Coast, it will be made up of disgruntled players who wouldn't fit into the standing AFL clubs anyway.

    Packers 11, all over again.

  5. hey

i used to live in werribee

i agree 100% he is a clown , its the best sport in the world but the only one that changes rules every year; i agree also about no vic clubs no footy, i have lost a lot of interest the last 20years with the afl obsessed with spending millions on the swannnnnnnnnnnnnnies and brisbane, NSW and QLD will always be rugby states, and its such a shame a lot of interstate fans have no idea what a real game of footy is

  6. I don't know if I agree with you. It appears it's only Victorians who continually want to resist the expansion of the game - & keep it the old VFL!

Someone in here the other day said Kevin Sheedy should become the AFL's CEO!!!....shock, horrow, spew, spit.... inagine that has-been running the show?

Some people just can't grasp that it is the states, other than Victoria, that has made the game as financial as it is now. Only a couple of the Melbourne based teams have been pulling their weight of late.

  7. Andrew Demetriou couldn't organise a p**s up in a brewery

    or

    a free **** in a brothel!!

God yes, someone oughta kick his sorry **** outta here!!

  8. I live near Werribee, please keep him away from us!!

Why is he so h**l bent on adding a 17th team - how about concentrating on saving the poor Kangas!!

  9. Oh I disagree ... I reckon if Andrew went out to Werribee with a few real football supporters .... there'd be a real c**p fight fast enough!

Why the h**l would you go Western NSW ... Rugby League heartland with no populations more than 60,000 or so in Dubbo ....

Unless he means Wagga ... pop'n 80,000 or so. (In which case, he'd need a serious geography lesson)

Or perhaps he's hinting at Canberra.

Odd numbers of teams just don't work.  NRL suffered it for years and it is a right royal ... well you know.

P-ss him right off, right now and give Sheeds the job ... if he ran it like he coached, he'd move North to full-forward, switch the Hawks back to Centre half, switch them back again and move them to ruck before anyone noticed, put the Kanga's back in the square ... oh hang on that's their plan now!

  10. Can't you see that secretly Andrew wanted the Kangas to stay put, because he was one himself.

Due to his AFL position he had to look as though he wasn't biased, or leaning towards his old club which is mostly owned by 3 shareholders anyway, and very safe.

This has been obvious with his relaxed manner on TV.

He only has to snap his fingers and a new club will be up and running on the Gold Coast, with rejects and renegades from other clubs in the AFL.
