Andrey Vagner and Susanne Hock win 100m breast-stroke titles - European Masters Championships
Andrey Vagner of Russia and Susanne Hock of
Germany won the titles of Men’s and Women’s 100m breast-stroke respectively, on day two of the 13th European Masters Championships, taking place in Yalta, Ukraine.
Vagner surfaced as the strongest swimmer of the two-lap breast-stroke swim by submitting a time of 1 minute and 08.84 seconds. He was trailed by Igor Chizik of Bulgaria, who followed him on the medal rostrum for silver medal, by reporting in a time of 1
minute and 09.15 seconds. Chizik was in a lead of 0.74 seconds over his following swimmer, Anton Kardash of Ukraine, who clocked a time of 1 minute and 09.89 seconds for the bronze medal.
The medal winners were chased by Kardash’s team-member, Sergey Khilko, who remained just 0.27 seconds slower than the bronze medallist and posted a time of 1 minute and 10.16 seconds. Khilko remained comfortably away from his following swimmer, Dennis Hermanski
of Germany, who ended his swim in a time of 1 minute and 13.08 seconds.
In the meantime, Hock dominated the Women’s equivalent event and clinched the title by producing a time of 1 minute and 14.77 seconds. She was followed by Henriette Stensgaard Frederiksen of Denmark, who claimed the silver medal with a timing of 1 minute
and 21.15 seconds. The third position of the event was secured by Magdalena Bolewska of Poland, who ended her swim in a time of 1 minute and 21.62 seconds.
The fourth finest spot of the Women’s breast-stroke was secured by Anastasiia Beskhlebnaia of Russia, who remained 4.02 seconds behind and completed her swim in a time of 1 minute and 25.64 seconds. Beskhlebnaia was traced by Saskia Bossy of Switzerland,
who concluded her swim after she touched the wall in a fifth fastest time of 1minute and 27.93 seconds.
The session completed after the conclusion of all scheduled events, while the arena admired immaculate swims of all position holders. In addition, the championship will continue for two more consecutive days to complete all events in Men’s and Women’s category.
