Andruw Jones: Odd Man Out?

The Dodgers signed Jones to a ridiculous 2 yr./$37M contract before this season. Now that the $20 Million Freak, Manny Ramirez, has been added to the outfield mix are Fat Andruw's days in LA numbered?

  1. He definitely better step his game up, but both of them are pretty much on the downward slope of their very respectable careers. Sad to say for Jones, who is still relatively young. Though this is another benefit of being a "big-market" team, you can afford to hold on to such insane contracts. Imagine if they happen to get hot simultaneously, that could go from being an embarrassingly bad offense to one the most powerful.

  2. I would not be surprised to see the Dodgers cut ties with Andruw Jones at this point, they will eat the salary and he will be playing elsewhere.  At this point it is the only good solution to the situation, Andruw is not helping the Dodgers in any way and the Dodgers are not going to get much out of having him sit on the bench, if he can't hit in the starting line-up I doubt he will be doing great things as a pinch hitter!

  3. I believe the Dodgers have given up on Andruw.  I would look for the team to try and move him or put him on waivers and give him a chance to sign with another team without anything in return.

  4. Fat Andruw needs to go down to double A where he belongs.

  5. Talk about an overrated has-been.

He & Manny will really be a good test of Torres' patience.

  6. 2 years ago if someone told you that Manny Ramirez and Andruw Jones would be in the same lineup you would have probably thought of a way different scenario than the present day reality...

On a side note: their payroll must be outrageous??....Oh wait a minute, the Sox are paying for Manny to play for the Dodgers.  My bad… :)

  7. Yes because he stinks this season

  8. BAT BOY That's a job he can do!!

  9. They've got decision time now...

Juan Pierre, Matt Kemp, Andre Ethier, Jones, and Ramirez. I'm thinking that either Pierre or Jones is the odd man out.
