England and Liverpool striker Andy Carroll believes that the presence of Liverpool team-mates in the England squad for the European Championships, has served to ease the nerves of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jordan-Henderson-c19102.
The England manager Roy Hodgson named six Liverpool players in his 23-man contingent for the Euro 2012 competition, including http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Glen-Johnson-c15050.
Amongst all the Premier League teams, the Reds have got the maximum representation in the national squad.
Henderson, who initially missed out on a place in the squad, eventually received a call up from Hodgson, after http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Frank-Lampard-c14097 was ruled out of the tournament due to an injury.
On the other hand, Kelly himself replaced the injured http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Belgium-c2850.
With the both the players getting the opportunity to represent their country in a major tournament for the very first time, Carroll indicated that the presence of multiple http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 players in the squad had considerably reduced their anxiety going into the
grand event.
While talking to reporters, he said: “All the lads are getting on well. It helps if there are more players from one team, like with (Liverpool) where there are six players who are in the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 squad. That helps me.”
So far, Henderson has capped 4 international appearances for England and featured in the Three Lions 1-0 win against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Norway-c2974 on 26th of May.
Kelly has made just a single appearance for England.
The towering striker, who himself will represent England for the first time in a major competition, also revealed that some members of the Liverpool’s training staff were also a part of England’s crew in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Poland-c2983 and Ukraine-a factor which has helped Kelly
and Henderson feel at home.
He added, “We've also got staff here from Liverpool, so I think, all in all, there's nine of us. So that's great for Martin Kelly, who has played one game for England which was in Norway. It's great for him to be around everyone who he has been around every
day in training for Liverpool.”
