Carroll praises Gerrard’s return to action and hopes that the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 captain and become the catalyst to give his career a jump at Anfield in the English Premier League
Andy Carroll has come out and stated that he anticipates that Gerrard’s return to fitness at Liverpool might be the thing that kick starts his career at Anfield in the English Premier League. Ever since his move to the Merseyside
giants in the January of 2011, Carroll has failed to make a mark at Anfield and justify his 35 million pound price tag which brought him to Liverpool.
This price tag has been a burden that Carroll has carried for over a year now and something that has plagued the club’s performances as well as the Reds have been short of goals this season.
Strict competition for a top four spot in the English Premier League standings means that currently Tottenham are above the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and Liverpool in the Premier League table which means that Liverpool might miss out on
UEFA Champions League action next season if they don’t shape up their performances soon enough. Carroll might be the key to improving those performances as the Reds have faltered due to Luis Suarez’s eight match suspension as well.
The former Newcastle United striker said, “It's great to have the captain back. You can see at Melwood [Liverpool’s training ground] that as soon as he comes out on the training pitch, he's just different class. I think just him
being there gives everyone else another lift and another boost.”
He added that it was great to have Gerrard back at Liverpool to full fitness and ever since his return the Liverpool skipper has scored three goals already. Carroll also said, that “When you're on the same team as him in training,
some of the passes he puts through for you and the chances he creates are incredible, really.”
Kenny Dalglish will hope that Gerrard remains fit for Liverpool for the remainder of the football season as they will need his experience to launch a full time assault on the fourth place spot in the English Premier League rankings.
