Andy Carroll thanks Liverpool members for their support during difficult times – EPL News
Often criticised Liverpool striker, Andy Carroll, has hailed the support of the Reds who have helped him during his barren run in front of goal. The English striker scored his first league goal of the season in a 2-0 victory over Everton at Goodison Park.
Carroll has failed to make much of an impact at Anfield since joining from Newcastle United for £35 million in the January 2011 transfer window. The 22-year-old failed to replicate his impressive goal scoring form, which he routinely enjoyed at Newcastle
United.
The English striker scored only two league goals last season, both coming against Manchester City. Carroll started the current season decently but endured a torrid time in front of the goal as he went goalless in first six league matches.

The 22-year-old striker told the club’s official website, "The goal is for everyone really, Kenny [Dalglish], the other lads and the fans. Everyone who has stood by me.”
Carroll also revealed that he was very confident before the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 match and has stated that he was determined to impress the fans by scoring a goal in the Merseyside derby.
“I had been speaking with Jose [Enrique] and I told him that I fancied getting my first of the season here. Before the game, I thought 'this is the day'.”
The English international has stated that his goal in the Merseyside has been the highlight of his Liverpool career so far. Moreover, Carroll also hailed his team’s performance against Everton and has claimed that Dalglish’s men deserved all three points
against their local rivals.
"This is by far the highlight of my time here, easily. It was a good result and it was nice to get on the score sheet. It felt great. The lads played well and deserved it,” the former Newcastle United striker concluded.
Andy Carroll has now scored two goals in the current season. The Englishman’s first goal came in Liverpool’s Carling Cup victory over Exeter City.
