Newcastle United’s star centre forward Andy Carroll will be travelling to Sweden on 28 January to consult a tendon repair expert over his thigh concern.
The youngster has been extremely vital for Newcastle this season and his 11 goals helped the Magpies in managing a solid start to the current season. Despite the fact that Carroll missed the last five Premier League fixtures, owing

He was expected to be back by the start of February, but things have not improved for the 22-year-old and Carroll will now head to the Arctic to see a specialist.
"We brought him to Portugal to start running and the disappointing news is that he hasn't. His injury is in the muscle just above the tendon where it joins the knee, so it's not an area that gets great circulation, so therefore
it doesn't heal quickly. We have had a consultation this week to send him to someone who's the world's best tendon repair expert,” stated the Newcastle boss.
Newcastle have tried their level best to provide Carroll with all the medical help that he needs. The club sent him to Dubai to get a warm weather break in order to fasten his recovery, but that also failed and now he will be seeking
the help of the renowned Swedish specialist. Strikers Shola Ameobi, Leon Best and Peter Lovenkrands have performed at the highest level in the player’s absence, but Pardew is desperate to have the man back who has been inspirational for the side since their
arrival in top flight. His services would be necessary against the big teams and Pardew hopes to see him return in time for the Arsenal game.
Moreover, Dan Gosling’s fitness is also being questioned, who made a quick comeback from his knee injury, but suffered a reaction while playing against Sunderland.
