England’s head coach, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Andrew-Flower-c44362, has admired the performance of England’s new One Day International skipper, Alastair Cook, and sees him as the future of England Cricket in both formats of the game.
Flower believes the decision of the England Cricket Board to appoint Cook as ODI skipper is a positive one, which reaped results in the recently concluded NatWest One-day series.
The ex-Zimbabwean great acknowledged the fact that the opener might not be the perfect player in terms of technique but admits that his ability to be flexible and handle pressure is what makes him stand out.
Cook has been in supreme touch lately in both Test and One Day format. In the home series against Sri Lanka, he averaged above 90 in both formats of the game.
Flower has also worked with the player during his stint with the English County, Essex, and hails the progress of the left-hander, who he reckons to be a perfect foil for the youngsters to follow.

format.
Many were of the view that the left-hander does not fit in to the 50-over game due to his inability to score quick runs.

Cook, will be aiming to topple the Indian side, which is currently at the peak of its form.
