Broad has signed an Indian Premier League (IPL) deal with Kings XI http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Punjab-c833 and he will have to honour his commitment to the franchise if he recovers from his calf injury, which would mean that he will have no time to rest in order to prepare for England's upcoming series against West Indies in May.
Flower, however, while refusing to comment on Broad’s IPL deal, said that it was a tricky subject, referring to the possibility of dropping Broad if the injury resurfaces during the IPL.
“The IPL is a tricky subject and a tricky time in the cricketing calendar, and I don't think there's a perfect answer there. My priority now is getting the guys ready for the West Indies series,” Flowered opined.
“If he's not fit enough, and calf injuries can take a bit longer than some of the other muscle groups, he won't go," the English coach added.
