Head-coach of the English cricket team, Andy Flower, has given a clear hint that explosive right-handed middle-order batsman, Kevin Pietersen, will make a comeback to the national team for England's tour of India in October.
After a great Test series against India, in which the English team claimed the number one Test ranking, Pietersen was rested for the One Day Internationals against the Men in Blue. One of the prime objectives for the English selectors
was to give chances to younger players.
However, India is not going to be easy to beat at home and this is the reason why English management cannot afford to rest its senior players. Although Pietersen has not done well in limited overs cricket recently, but he is still a match-winner
and has the potential to change the course of a game singlehandedly.
Flower is happy and satisfied that his limited overs team has done well recently despite the absence of key players like http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Eoin-Joseph-Gerard-Morgan-c56032 and Pietersen, however, he does understand the value of experience in the sub-continent conditions.
"We've not had Pietersen or http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Morgan-c77707 lately but we need a mix of experienced and younger players. We're pretty clear about what we want in India and why. I don't think there's going to be much confusion in that regard."
Fast bowler Jade Dernbach has impressed one and all with his ability to dry up the runs for the opposing batsmen in limited overs cricket. He did exceedingly well in the series against India and the two T20 Internationals against the West
Indies. Middle order batsman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/RS-Bopara-c2373 has also re-established himself in the English team.
Flower was all praise for both of these cricketers and said that it is going to be a challenge for these players to perform against India in India. The English coach added that his team’s victories in the recently concluded series against
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 are going to give them an edge in the limited overs series against India.
“Jade Dernbach has grown with every outing and Ravi Bopara showed skill and confidence in the last series. It's a different type of cricket in the subcontinent, although knowing you can beat a side helps. We will have to adapt to conditions
but there's nothing mysterious out there," Flower added.
