England cricket team’s head coach, Andy Flower, is not satisfied with the leadership of the International Cricket Council.
The English coach lashed out at ICC for not implementing the Decision Review System in their ongoing series against India as a whole. Flower feels that ICC should have taken strong measures to ensure the technology was used in their high profile series against
India.
During the series between England and India, a modified version of DRS is being used, which does not include the controversial Hawk-Eye. Indians have been always opposed Hawk-Eye and refused to DRS if this technology was made part of it.
Flower said, “I don't think there's anything we can do, but I think the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 should be stronger in taking a lead on these issues. They are the world governing body. I don't think it's unfair to say they haven't led on this topic. We all know that it is not
going to be 100 per cent accurate, but we also know you get more right decisions using it.”
Celebrations were high in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013, when they ripped though India in Lord’s Test match by 196 runs. It was a memorable moment for the English fans as it was 2000th Test match in cricket’s history and the 100th between the two great nations.
Flower states that result of the match could have been affected by umpiring errors. The 43-year-old coach beckons that such controversies will arise as there are still three matches to be played and the second game which will be played at Trent Bridge, is
just around the corner.
Asked whether he fears that umpiring errors will play a role in the outcome of the series, Flower said, “Yes, I am actually. We almost saw it happen in this Test match. It would have been wrong if the outcome of the game had been seriously affected by a
couple of those decisions and it was quite right that, luckily, we did continue to create chances.”
On the fifth day of first Test, a couple of decisions went http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SK-Raina-c2539 not out after the ball struck their pads off Stuart Broad’s bowling while the replays showed that the ball would have
gone to hit the stumps.
Luckily for English side, both batsmen failed to make most of the decision as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/JM-Anderson-c1705 was in full swing on that day as he dismissed both the batsmen.
