Andy Flower wants England not to get carried away with the win - Cricket News update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Andrew-Flower-c44362, head coach England cricket team, warned his side against complacency. The coach wants Poms not to get carried away with the win over India at Trent Bridge.
England trounced Indians by 319 runs in the second Test, to go 2-0 up in the four-match npower series. Poms are one win away from capturing the number one spot in International Cricket Councils Test rankings and the hype surrounding their next game against
the Men in Blue, at Birmingham, is huge.
English cricket team has been eyeing this spot for some time now and Flower, along with Poms’ skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AJ-Strauss-c964, wants England to become number one Test team under their reign.
For that very reason, Flower has advised his workforce to concentrate at the game at Edgbaston as according to the coach, Poms have accomplished nothing as the series is still wide open with two more matches to go.
The head coach, asserting that his team is not looking into the future and is taking every game as it comes, he said, “It's not and it's important for the side that it's not at the forefront of our minds. It's actually not only pointless to be looking further
ahead than that [Edgbaston preparations], it's dangerous.”
Flower continued, “So I would like to emphasise right now - that we're ahead in the series but we're only halfway through the series. There is no point in triumphalism. We don't even know if we're going to win the series yet.”
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/IJL-Trott-c1576 is not 100 % fit. The batsman twisted the ligaments of his shoulder while diving in the field and was in distress. Trott did not bat at
his usual number three spot against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/IR-Bell-c1597 was promoted to that position.
Flower clarified that the final decision to play Trott will come after consulting the player. The coach said, “He is still in a bit of discomfort and nowhere near 100 per cent yet. We will monitor his fitness as the week progresses.”
The Third match against India and England will start from Wednesday, August 10, 2011.
