Andy Gray, who's become one of the UK’s most popular football pundits on Sky Sports, has been publicly asked to leave after a leaked clip revealed him asking his former colleague, Charlotte Jackson, to tuck his shirt in for him.
Well, it was unfortunate, and possibly, some would say, a bit much to sack Andy for. There are, without a doubt, so many men out there that have a sexual joke with lovely ladies and, quite rightly, the women ignore them, hold their head up and carry on as if nothing has happened.
But it’s all done, all dusted. Now, Sky need to act fast to find a replacement for the larger than life co-commentator, the big question is WHO?
Well.. we’ve narrowed it down to the following:
Sam Allardyce –He’s recently had the shocking news of his own dismissal and ever since he’s had a couple of stints in the studio. He’s definitely got the experience, so this could be a viable option.
Alan Smith – Considered to be Andy Gray’s No.2 at Sky, Alan is sure to be a favourite replacement. A former Gunners player, who received only one yellow card throughout his entire career, Alan could be in for a promotion before the season’s over.
Jamie Redknapp – One of Sky’s team members already, Jamie certainly knows how to talk the talk but does he receive enough respect for his knowledge of the sport, and are his analytical skills in-depth enough to really tackle the role?
Don Goodman – A former striker that has played for a number of clubs over a 20 year career in league football, and already a Sky co-commentator, Don already knows the set up as well as the strategies and may be a good bet to become the next Gray.
Kevin Philips – Currently a player for Birmingham City, Kevin might be a bit inexperienced for this role, however, as a player who’s got an unusually stable love life for a footballer, and with rumours he’s ready to retire from football, he might be the best outsider for a job like this.
Dwight Yorke – A former player at Aston Villa and a playing and managerial career that spans many clubs, Dwight, who’s generally famous for a brief relationship with the British Page Three model http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jordan-c2929 who he has had a son with, has proved to be a lively co-commentator on various occasions and could possibly be worth a small bet.
It may take a bit of time to find the right person to replace Gray, but, being as Sky usually starts by looking in-house we’re putting our money on Jamie as the first player to be selected.
