Andy Lee wins against Craig McEwan via 10-round knockout decision – Boxing news
Irish professional middleweight boxer, Andy Lee has won a 10-round TKO decision over Scotland’s Craig McEwan in their Middleweight fight that was fought on Saturday night 12th March at the Foxwoods Resort Casino, Mashantucket, Connecticut, USA.
It was Andy Lee’s third consecutive TKO win in the middleweight division. Andy Lee’s professional record has been improved now with this win as follows. He fought 26 fights in total with 25 wins, 19 KO wins and 1 loss of game and no draws. The 26 years old,
Andy Lee in his amateur career has already beaten Craig McEwan in the past.
On the other hand, 28 years old, Craig McEwan after getting defeated by Sergio Martinez has updated his professional record as follows. He fought 20 fights in total, won 19 fights including 10 wins by KO’s, total 1 loss of game and no draw.
It was officially announced that John Duddy will be Lee’s next opponent. Consequently, the reason because John Duddy declared his withdrawal from the boxing world, the Craig McEwan came to fill his space.
If look at most of the early rounds we will find Craig McEwan at his best. He tried to keep pressure on Andy Lee but he could not be able to maintain it throughout the fight. Andy Lee being impressive caught Craig McEwan in the 10th round to stand as a winner.

Freddie Roach, the head trainer of Craig McEwan is also performing his job for the philippine’s pride Manny Pacquiao. He missed the fight because he was in training session with Manny Pacquiao in Philippines to make him fit for his defence of welterweight
title against Shane Mosley on 7th May at MGM Grand Las Vegas, USA.
Hopefully, the Andy Lee’s next fight would be against the former WBC Super Welterweight Champion Sergio Martinez for the autumn world title fight in the USA. He won technical knockout decision impressively over Sergiy Dzinziruk or a rematch is expected against
the only one, Bryan Vera who has defeated Andy Lee in the past.
Hopefully, this win over Craig McEwan will open the doors for a title shot against the big boxing names for Andy Lee in the future.
