Question:

Andy Murray - Britain's best tennis player or Scotland's greatest failure?

I do not like Andy Murray because:-

a) He is indeed a miserable individual

b) He doesn't seem to have any likable characteristics

c) He is obsessively Scottish, so as I'm English, I won't be supporting him since he is so vehemently against us

Say what you like about Tim Henman, but he WAS relatively successful and no matter what he came up against, he always approached things in a respectable way and tried his best. Even Greg Rusedski had more charm and charisma than this curly haired fool.

Hence I don't care if Murray either wins the title or gets battered today. It means nothing to me. Anyone else an opinion?

  1. Well his ranking speaks for it self?

This time 2 years ago he was 154th in the world, and came in as a wildcard into wimbledon...

He won his first ATP tour race, 2 months later respectively, and even this year with his injury has sustained in the top 15 in the world...

He has yet to learn alot, and is sometimes, too agressive, his serve is always improving, although not up to what you call 'roddick speed' but its getting there.

Tim, well i always  respected tim, but the fact of the matter is, british tennis needs to step up, 30 years since the last british grand slam winner!

  2. Sounds to me as if you are jealous of someone with a bit of talent.

  3. Im not quiet sure but i dont like the fact that he is scottish fair enough but supporting portuagul in the world come against us makes me angry if he plays for england.

  4. The English fans amaze me. Nothing against you specifically but English tennis fans in general. Greg Rusedski was Canadian born & raised he bailed and went to England in the 90's since his mum was British and he wasn't happy not getting his way with Tennis Canada, Andy Murray the current great white hope and his doubles specialist brother Jamie are both Scots from the United Kingdom and your best woman is Laosian. The only real English tennis talents you've had in the Mens draw were John Lloyd and Tim Henman both of whom were treated poorly by fans. I can't understand it. Especially Timmy as he was as English as English could be and his family had a tennis tradition with his grand dad having played Wimbledon as well. Yet English fans had nothing but compaints and slurs for him. Oh well I guess it's true you don't appreciate someone til they're gone.

  5. I'm a bit fed up with all this anti-Murray stuff on here.

    a)  Not many tennis players are a laugh-a-minute - it's serious stuff.

    b)  He can win tennis matches, so I quite like him for that.

    c)  He is a proud Scot - nothing wrong with that - if that annoys some people TOUGH!!!!!

As I've said before - at least he IS British, unlike Rusedski!!!!

  6. <<c) He is obsessively Scottish, so as I'm English, I won't be supporting him since he is so vehemently against us>>

Back this remark up with facts please.  In case you didn't know his girlfriend is English.  Obviously it is you that is the Xenophobe mate.  I've never heard him once say he hates English people.  What's the problem with being proud of your country.  I'm proud to be Scottish as well!  I've no problem with people being proud to be English as long as they don't make remarks like you did.  I do think "British" is a thing of the past though.

I'd rather have Andy Murray than a bunch of "James Blunts" anyday.  Don't think Henman was that successful BTW.

  7. You do realsie Scotland is part of Britain which by default makes him BRITISH. So what's wrong with Murray being proud of his nationality? 95% of Scots say they're Scottish, not British, does that offend you as well? And explain to me how is he so vehently against you? Beacause he wants his rivals to lose a game of football?! Hahaha!! Get a grip. He's got all of Scotland behind him so I hardly thinks he needs you to support him anyway.

Oh how good would it be if he wins Wimbledon - he can run round the court draped in a Saltire getting it right up the pompous arseholes.

For the record Tim Henman was gash

  8. Scotland's best tennis player.

  9. Who is he????

  10. Henman was definently a better player because he made it to the Wimbledon finals and beat top players that people actually heard of. I understand where your coming from when you talk about Andy Murray that way. I don't think he's a walk in the park either. I'm part American, Scottish, and Irish. I don't care either whether Murray wins or loses today either!! :O)
