After winning the Rogers Cup final held in Toronto on Sunday from the tennis living legend Roger Federer, the British tennis ace Andy Murray is eyeing the Grand Slam now. The win against Federer has certainly given Murray a strong boost and it seems that he is not ready to stop at all.
The 23-year-old Scot tennis sensation is enjoying his best winning form and flying high with stone cold confidence. Murray believes that his triumph in the Rogers Cup is a strong indication for him that he can perform better in the upcoming Grand Slam as well. He is of the view that his performance in the Roger cup was a good preparation for him, as he is feeling great and confident to participate in the New York Open. Undoubtedly the player has matchless talent and has the capacity to thrash any stronger opponent. Murray has shown his brilliant class in the Rogers Cup by beating the world number one Rafael Nadal. With his superb performance in the tournament, he has certainly conveyed a strong message to the other veteran rivals that he has the capacity to clutch one more title and he is not going to discontinue at all. He has outclassed Argentinean ace David Nalbandian in the quarter Finals and the world number 1 Spaniard Rafael Nadal in the semi-final contest, which has given him a potential boost to conquer every stage.
After winning the tournament Murray seemed very happy and much relaxed and discussed his future plans with media and press. Murray said that US Open is his real goal now, as this Grand Slam is the last mega tournament of this season so he would love to go for it and give it a good try. Later Murray added that he is happy so far with the way he has performed and will try his level best to keep the winning pace high and stable. While talking about the playing condition in the Rogers Cup, the 23-year-old tennis veteran said that the conditions were tough because he had played five consecutive matches in the daylight so it was not an easy task for him. But winning the event is a proof that he is perfectly fit and can play more. While talking about the match Murray highlighted his feelings by saying that he is feeling great as the victory against Roger Federer was not easy at all. He said that it was a good win and victories against the three best players of the world; in a row is certainly a sign of relief for him.
Murray will now compete in Cincinnati Masters Cup this week before he enters into his major-targeted event, the Grand Slam in New York. While talking about the upcoming Cincinnati Masters Cup, Murray told the media that he will try his best to keep the good luck sailing, and will work hard to keep his winning form alive. Later he added that his major target is the Grand Slam for which he is working hard and else is just a preparation for the bigger stage of tennis.
The victory against the Swiss champ tennis ace Roger Federer in the final of Rogers Cup is a proof of his marvellous talent and strong aggressive approach in the match. While speaking about his mental fitness he said that he has managed to stay mentally tough and aggressive to keep the pace of the game strong and hard. Later he admired the game of Roger Federer and said that Federer is great living legend in tennis and can turn the match upside down in no time, which makes him even tougher than the others.
Andy Murray has shown his mental and physical fitness successfully by winning the Rogers Cup in Toronto. Now he is aiming high to clutch the biggest trophy of Grand Slam, which no doubt seems to be an approachable target for him.
