Andy Murray all set to win this year’s US Open title
The Brit number one tennis ace, Andy Murray managed to beat Roger Federer as well as Rafael Nadal in a single championship on the very first tournament of his career, just a few days ago at the Rogers Cup tennis tournament 2010 in Toronto. As a result of this accomplishment along with his title victory, the twenty three year old Murray has raised the expectations of every one by saying that he will become the first player from Great Britain to win a major title after a period of seventy years, this time at the Flushing Meadows in New York.
The world's top tennis players, namely Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer, also believe that the Scott is in full form and ready to fight for winning the upcoming United States Open title, starting at the end of this month in New York.
As far as the latest US Open betting odds are concerned, Andy Murray has jumped to the second spot along with Roger Federer at 3-1. Additionally he is only a single point behind the current number one tennis ace, Rafael Nadal. The top seeded Rafa has as yet failed to get past the semi finals of the United States Open championships he has taken part in during his career.
One of the important features of Andy's trophy defense at the Rogers Cup tennis tournament 2010 was his belief that it was high time for an achievement. His confidence level throughout the championship was simply remarkable. When commenting on his possibilities at the United States Open competition, Andy Murray said, "I feel I am good enough to win the title this season considering my present form”.
As far Murrays decision last month to part ways with his coach Miles Maclagan is concerned, Murray’s game has improved instead of suffered. The Scott is now playing even more aggressively than ever, and this was obvious during his matches last week at the Canadian Open.
Murray also commented on the upcoming final Grand Slam of the season, the US Open. He said that his biggest moment may come next month in the city of New York at the Flushing Meadows. "It is going to be highly challenging for me to win a title on the hard court of New York in the presence of top favourites like Rafael Nadal as well as Roger Federer".
"The present era certainly belongs to Rafael and Roger however I like to take up challenges and so it’s going to be really exciting for me and I will definitely give my hundred percent”, he added.
What makes this victory even more possible is the fact that Murray recently won the 2010 Rogers Cup title after knocking down the Swiss tennis maestro, Roger Federer in the final battle, at Toronto. At this point it should also be mentioned that as a result of this defeat, the Fed Express can no longer claim that he always triumphs when it is required the most.
After the match on Sunday Federer said, "It is definitely a great win for Murray however it is still not a guarantee for a major victory what everyone is talking about at the moment. However, he is off course heading in that direction that will earn him big victories in future. To me, Murray does not need to prove his excellence and class as he has already defeated me on seven occasions so far in his career. Moreover, he has also knocked down Rafael Nadal in the past on hard surfaces. So it was just another superb performance from him in a major match”.
When asked about his preperations for the Us Open Murray told reporters that he was not going to exhaust himself as a result of too much running in the tune up competitions prior to the US Open as he wants to be at his very best in New York.
