British number one, Andy Murray will participate in the Mubadala World Tennis Championship and surely misses biggest rival, Rafael Nadal. The King of Clay recently announced that he would not be contesting in the exhibition tournament
as he is suffering from serious stomach issues. His absence definitely creates a great opportunity for the young Scot.
The Spanish number one has not contested in any tennis tournament since his unfortunate knee injury in the second round of the Wimbledon Championships. He is non-attendance unquestionably eliminates a great deal of competition
from the competitive tennis courts, as he was expected to give a tough comeback to world champions such as Novak Djokovic and Federer.
Talking to the media, Murray said, “He’s been in the top few players in the world since he was 17 years old. It’s been like nine years almost he’s been there, so when he’s not there for a few months, especially with his style and
his passion and the way that he is on the court, he’s got a lot of energy, so when you lose that for a few months, I think it’s not ideal for tennis. Tennis is in a really good, but it’s obviously much better for tennis when he’s around because he’s one of
the most exciting players to watch.”
The 25-year-old professional, Murray, keenly eyes the exhibition tournament at the Zayed Sports City this will categorically tune him up for the upcoming 2013 tennis campaign. He was expecting to face the left-hander in the second
round. In the past, the two challengers faced each other at the hard courts of Rakuten Japan Open in Tokyo. In the US Open 2011, he rallied past the British in a tough four-set match in the semi-finals. A similar trend prevailed in the same year at the Wimbledon
Championship, when the Spanish challenger nudged past him with his superior game plan.
In the earlier past, Murray has put a great deal of effort to evolve into a tremendous player. He received his first break through in the London 2012 Olympics. He rallied past the Swiss Maestro, Federer, in a straight-set match.
He achieved his first ever Grand Slam title at the hard courts of New York, climbing a step up than Nadal. Hopefully, with the dawn of 2013, Murray will build momentum and become the world number one!
