Andy Murray claims to be in a fitter shape than before – Tennis News
Ranked world number three in the South African Airways ATP World Tour Rankings, Andy Murray, displayed a magnificent transcend with his superb performance this year. He was the first British challenger who received the US Open
title and the gold medal in the Olympics in a season. He is one of the remarkable achievers ready to undertake all the over powering odds.
Murray told the media, “A few years back I could pretty much eat what I wanted on the off-season, but I’ve noticed that as you get older you have to watch what you eat a bit more when you are not training. That said, I love the
physical side to training and it helps me going into matches knowing I’m the fittest I can be. I would love to win Wimbledon and more grand slams and I’m working hard and doing everything I can to achieve that. 2012 was my best year so far on the tour, I’d
love to make 2013 special as well.”
The 25-year-old is all set to make an emphatic entry in the 2013 Australian Open held at the Melbourne Park. He is undergoing vigorous training under the supervision of his American coach, Ivan Lendl, who has a great passion for
the sport and enjoys his long on-court practise sessions and improving Murray. The Briton enjoys a very cordial relation with Lendl and has learned a lot from him.
In the recent past, the player had never secured a Major title and his critics always doubted in his potential to win a Grand Slam. He nudged past the Swiss veteran, Roger Federer, in the final round of 2012 London Olympics and
a silver medal in the mixed doubles. He shocked the reigning world number one, Novak Djokovic, in the US Open title match.
The right-hander is preparing to be in the best possible shape for his upcoming campaign. The only title that he regrets to lose is the Wimbledon 2012, which he will try to win in the next season. He has more confidence to withhold
his consistency and has an equal chance to become the world number one.
