Andy Murray deserves to be among the elite Big Four – Tennis News
Former world number one, Novak Djokovic, strongly asserted that the top British professional, Andy Murray, as a part of the “Big Four” tennis aces. The Serb is five-time Grand Slam winner and has won several fierce encounters
against all the leading tennis champions of the golden era, like Rafael Nadal and RogerFederer.
In an interview with the media, Djokovic told the media, “You have four players who are I think winning 90 percent of all the major tournaments that you have on the tour. I think, making this era a golden era. Andy was always
part of that group of the top players. For about the last four, five years he's been in top four in the world. Now he has won Olympic Games. He's played couple of grand slam finals, so he deserves to be up there. It was definitely impressive performance from
him at Wimbledon and at the Olympic Games even more.”
The Serbian tennis professional believes that the Scot will be a tough contender for the future tournament after his victory at the London Olympics. He nudged his singles victory in straights sets against the reigning Swiss
champion, Federer at his home soil.  Further, he went forward to prove his good run of form and grabbed the silver medal in the mixed doubles category.
Murray has not yet won a single Grand Slam title in his career. He also withdrew from the Rogers Cup due to his injury after the tough Olympic campaign. However his chances of winning at the Cincinnati Master are still in
doubt.
The British number one has been the finalist at the Wimbledon Championships this year and the Serb surely believed that he surely deserved the gold medal at the London 2012 at the courts of All-England-Club. He had to face
intense pressure of winning his home tournament; nonetheless he bounced back and claimed the gold medal.
He maintained an agile performance in all the tournaments this year and has performed best of his abilities. There is a greater chance, if he is able to preserve the same pace as before, he will surely face the Serbian professional
in the Cincinnati Open, exactly where both players contested last year.
