his desired victory after the unfortunate exit of Nadal.
In the earlier past, his critics were never ready to accept his hidden potential and considered him incapable of any mental strength to hand the pressure of world champions. The young Scot completely surprised the world by becoming
the first Brit after since 1936 to clinch a Grand Slam title and became the unquestionable champion.
The 25-year-old has faced all the other top-four contenders in different tournaments, encountering immense competitions. Despite of the odds against him, he battled through all the tricky stages with a strong resolve. The right-hander
is ready to secure his win at the Australian Open from the reigning world number one, Novak Djokovic. He was the finalist in year 2011 but was unable to clinch the required results, as the Serbian contender proved to be much more powerful. The very next year,
in the semi-finals they faced each other in a 290 minutes thrilling encounter.
The reigning world number three, Murray, managed to break the ice at the green grass courts of Wimbledon Championships. He nudged past very competent opponents, including the Spanish number two, David Ferrer, and the Frenchman
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. However, in the final round he was unable to rally past the more experienced Swiss number one, Roger Federer.
The British professional faces the biggest threat at the hands of Federer, who totally dominates over all the other tennis greats in the head-to-head to series. Despite of his London Olympics success, he still needs to secure his
supremacy. At the season-ending Barclays ATP World Tour Finals held at the indoor hard courts of London, Murray was unable to take the lead and lost in the semi-finals. Nonetheless, the Brit can surely be one of the most powerful contenders to secure the world
number one spot with a little more hard work and mental strength.
